Dr. Manisha is a research-oriented and versatile Design Professional with 30 years of solid industry/ academic/ consultancy experience.
Having started in academia (IIT-Bombay), she has transitioned through independent consultancy in publication, software, and GUI design; thereafter worked with the jewelry and education industries in Product development, Instruction Design / Business Development, and Operations, and have culminated this journey to become the founder-Dean of the NMIMS School of Design since 2016.
Talking about NMIMS School of Design, it has ranked 3rd in Career’s 360 lists, and its success is demonstrated through 100% placement, 100% paid internships, 12 student awards in national and international competitions, and collaborative projects with Harvard University.
A T-shaped Design evangelist, she have proven competencies and skills in Strategic Design, User Research, Human-Machine Interaction, Solution Design (POC) involving IoT/VR, Speculative foresight, Creative thought-building, Design thinking, mentorship of Start-ups, and Academic and curriculum advisory.
She has been giving back to her core Design discipline for the past 6 years through training and educating young design professionals in my school, thus helping to create the design generation that will be able to meet future demands of the industry.
She is passionate about exploring the possibilities of Design and have spoken at various conferences and webinars on Sustainable UX, the future of education, and interactive digital transformation. She has published in the domains of education, sustainability, and humanising technology.
